OUR ETHICS

The heart of what we stand for

TRACY'S LEGACY

Our founder, Georgie Aldous, created Pembroke Avenue in memory of his late mother, Tracy Paulette Alford, who you can read more about here. She had a passion for everything that smelled good, a trait well-known among her close family and friends. Georgie promised to continue her legacy and never let her name be forgotten.

Hand Made

Our bespoke candle vessels are crafted from the finest ceramic materials and are formed, trimmed, painted, dried, fired, and glazed by hand for ultimate precision.

Hand Poured

We make all of our candles and fragrances in-house, ensuring full control over quality. Each candle is hand-poured with love and left to "cure" for up to 7 days.

Our Wax

We use a natural blend of rapeseed and coconut wax, which is completely free from paraffin, soy, palm, beeswax, and any synthetic additives.

Our Wicks

The wicks we use may vary from candle to candle, as every fragrance oil performs differently and may require a specific wick for the best scent throw. However, we primarily use wicks made of unbleached cotton, interwoven with linen thread, and coated with a small amount of paraffin wax, which we aim to eliminate in the future.

Our Fragrance

We spent over two years testing and sourcing the highest quality, vegan, and paraben-free fragrance oils, approved by top experts in the industry. Rest assured, the fragrance we use is of the highest standard and will perform accordingly.

Our Packaging

We are, and always will be, committed to minimizing our impact on the planet, from our products to our packaging. With over 300 million tonnes of plastic produced each year (half of which is for single-use items that aren’t recycled) we limit plastic usage in our products and packaging. Almost everything is recyclable, helping us stay true to our commitment to a low carbon footprint.

Upcycle

We create products that perform to the highest standards and look beautiful in every home, but they are also made with upcycling in mind. A lot of attention and care go into each product, and each one is slightly different from the next. We would hate for them to go to waste once you're done with them. Visit our Candle Care page here for tips on how to upcycle your empty candle vessel.

CHARITY

We work closely with Feathers Futures who are a women's charity based in Great Yarmouth that help hundreds of women each year. They aim to be a friendly place for women to make friends, socialise, learn new skills and receive support. We support them with regular product donations and hope to collaborate on exclusive products in the future to raise money.
